Spring is the season of rejuvenation brings with it many delights. The blooming flowers, the singing bird, everywhere one looks, it seems like mother earth is slowly awakening from the dreary winter. Every year in spring, the entire city of Srinagar is enchanted by the pinkish-white almond blooms from Badamwari (Almond garden). The sweet fragrance of these blooms lingers in every corner of the city and brings with it not just a promise of a bountiful summer but a glimmer of hope, rekindling our lonely hearts with the hope of everlasting love that the winter’s cold buried deep under its snow. The park full of its magnificent almond trees becomes a major attraction for both locals as well as tourists visiting the vale as it provides people with a chance to see the spring in its full glory.

Spread over 300 kanals (37 Acres), the garden is situated on the foothills of Koh-e-Maran, in Srinagar city, is dotted with trees, flowers and cascades which provided a soothing experience to the visitors.

According to historians, there are no actual records about the construction of the garden. However, it is believed that the temple was built before the rule of Sultan Zain-ul-Abidin in the 14th century.
