The sources said seven rebel fighters and three soldiers were killed in fierce fighting in the mountainous district of Juma’at Bin Fadhil of Saada Saturday, after four army troops were killed in similar clashes a day earlier.

Authorities did not comment on the fighting that reportedly was still going on as of noon Sunday.

According to reports from Saada, which borders Saudi Arabia, rebels have been besieging an army unit in Juma’at Bin Fadhil since mid-January.

The fighting comes after the two sides reached an agreement in Doha Friday to abide by a Qatari-sponsored deal that ended the army-rebel hostilities in Saada last June.
