Fact finding in Muzafarnagar to know the real rioters

One left his blue cap behind. Police, PAC, RAF doing this said, “Muslims will be thrown out of India, don’t damage the floor or walls, after all, all this will one day belong to us”
Not a single plate or cup or shelf has been left whole. Each & every thing has been broken, under pretext of a “flag march” by PAC, RAF, police. In a home, there was only a woman with 3 children at night when the forces stormed in & trashed it.
Images from another Muslim home, with a sawmill. It too has been trashed fully, a man dragged off, arrested, forced to sign to possession of guns, a teenage boy detained & tortured for 2 days, a young girl’s head badly injured when she tried to protect her uncle.
Those hands are the hands of an artist, a कारीगर, who sweated to buy a sawmill, creates wooden furniture. The old man sobbed for his arrested son & his destroyed world. His Hindu tenants say he’s always helped them in need, & what’s done to him is “महा अन्याय”, a great injustice

The next few tweets are pics from a Shia school, hostel first set up in 1929. The whole place has been ransacked by police & plainclothes men wielding sharp weapons. Not a vehicle or window pane is whole. CCTV cameras were smashed & their records stolen by the marauding police. A stopped clock shows this violence happened at 4.30 pm (on 20 Dec). Hostel rooms ransacked, 16 students dragged from their rooms, arrested, still in jail. They were not in any protest.

In the school/hostel offices, a broken almirah, the lock of which reads मेरा भारत महान (My India is great), piles of glass, smashed printer & picture frames. The Saadat hostel here is a quiet green place where Hindus join Muslim friends for “group study”.

The young girl injured by the police still has nightmares, waking up screaming that the police are going to kill her and her family. Entire family in tears & trauma. Every possession in pieces.

There are several other homes ransacked in the same way by police. Also, in the presence of @UPPolice , BJP men led mobs which torched, vandalised Muslims’ shops at Meenakshi Chowk, Dena Bank building, cars belonging to ex MP Syeduzzama. Photos appeared in papers.

Shop owners filed complaints naming a BJP man by the alias “Bobby” (seen in pic in paper circled in red), but @UPPolice told them no named FIRs are being accepted. You can get compensation but don’t try to get the communal rioters punished, they’re told.
Note that not a single Hindu person, or shop, or home has been torched or attacked or harmed. Some stone pelting by protestors – maybe. But the police has NOT acted against actual communal rioters who told Muslim shop owners “Katuey, Pakistan jao” (circumcised fellows, go to Pak)

Instead all we saw were “wanted” notices of poor Muslim boys and men, with rewards announced for information about them or for their capture!
