Beirut : Hezbullah eulogized its military commander Emad Meghneyeh who was killed Wednesday, accusing Israel of playing a role in his death.
The group would not confirm reports on the details of the figure’s death.
Hezbullah vowed to continue Meghneyeh’s path until victory is realized.
Born in 1963, Meghneyeh hailed from South Lebanon and was a kind of phantom figure as no visual or audio information or media was available about him.
Some said his name only popped up whenever military operations of great significance and delicacy took place.
Dubbed in Iran as “the fox” and “the greatest killer of Americans,” Meghneyeh was the number one wanted man on all international terrorism lists. He is worth the same as Osama bin Laden, each with a USD 25 million bounty for his capture.
Meghneyeh was accused of carrying on violent acts against several nations, such as the US and Kuwait, with some reports he was behind the killing of two Kuwaiti nationals after the Jabriyah plane kidnapping in 1988.
