Ramallah : United Nations under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs John Holmes expressed on Friday his worries concerning the deteriorating situation in Gaza Strip.
Holmes said in a press conference after visiting today hospitals in Gaza and Beit Lahyia where he expressed shock at the levels of destruction and loss in these areas after the closure of passageways, including levels of unemployment among Palestinians.
Holmes also noted the grave shortages of fuel in health facilities, pointing out that 80 percent of Palestinians depend on UN food supplies.
The UN official added he will convey his observations over the humanitarian situation he saw in Gaza to the United Nations, including holding discussions with Palestinians and Israelis.
