Islamabad : Federal minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A Memon Monday appreciated the arrangements made at the polling stations for the people to cast their votes.
Talking to PTV, after visiting different polling booths in Islamabad, he lauded the arrangements made by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He also appreciated the security arrangements made by the government for smooth conduct of the elections.
He said, major political parties are participating in the elections.
Transparent ballot boxes were introduced for the first time in the country to ensure fair elections.
He also congratulated PTV for excellent arrangements made for quick and adequate coverage of the polling process.
He appreciated Radio Pakistan, Press Information Department(PID) and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) for making appropriate arrangements regarding coverage of the elections.
He said that they are fully active regarding the coverage of general elections and facilitating the foreign media.
To a question about the international surveys about the result of the elections he said, it could have any credibility had they consulted all the political parties and the voters. But these were merely based upon the survey of about 3,000 people.
Nisar Memon said, almost 80 million people would cast their vote, adding the results of the elections would be announced in just two days.
