SP chief general secretary Shyamsunder Arya, who led the protest, accused the government of joining hands with the American government and the petroleum companies to get more tax from the price hike.

“The Congress party needs funds for the upcoming elections which are provided by the petroleum companies. So, Congress is forced to keep the petroleum companies happy,” he claimed.
