Mumbai : A passenger who arrived here from Qatar Tuesday and was detained at the Mumbai airport for travelling on a fake passport managed to escape.
The man, identified as Watangi Gafar, was detained by immigration officials soon after he landed from a Qatar airline. However, taking advantage of the lax security, he managed to hoodwink the officials.
The airport immigration officials were yet to lodge a police complaint.
“The police cannot take any action as the immigration officials have so far not filed a first information report (FIR),” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport Zone) R.N. Tadvi told IANS.
