Ramallah : Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinians in West Bank early Tuesday during raids into the occupied territory, Palestinian security forces said.
The detentions took place in the cities of Nablus, Qalqiliya, Bethlehem, Hebron, Jericho and Abu Dis, the sources added.
The Israeli radio also confirmed the arrests and said the nine were wanted by the state of Israel for involvement in planning attacks against Israeli targets.
The Israeli army carries out daily incursions and detention campaigns in the West Bank towns and villages.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Ministry said it had launched an international campaign to draw the world’s attention to the issue.
The campaign will address European people “and aims at explaining what impact the release of the prisoners can leave on the peace process,” Ashraf al-Ajrami, the prisoner affairs minister told Voice of Palestine radio.
