Geneva : The United Nations Office for Refugees (UNHCR) warned of the increase of civilians coming from the Sudanese region of Darfur into Chad territory.
UNHCR spokesman William Spindler told the press that those people are fleeing combat between government forces and rebels in Darfur, and most are women, children and elderly.
More refugees groups are constantly arriving in Chad making the situation more difficult for the displaced people from other countries that also experience internal conflicts, noted Spindler.
They are now moving to the interior of Chad for the fear of being reached by the fire. We have discovered several wounded people like a girl and her aunt as well as cases of sexual violence, added the spokesman.
