New Delhi : A sum of Rs.200,000 was stolen from the General Post Office (GPO) in Gole market area, Delhi Police said Monday.
According to police, three unidentified people arrived at the Speed Post counter late Sunday night under the pretext of sending a mail and struck a conversation with the employee on emergency duty and a guard.
After taking them into confidence, the trio offered the two soft drinks laced with sedatives, and took two aluminium boxes containing cash from the GPO's Speed Post counter.
"We have collected details and fingerprints from the crime scene and further investigations are underway," a senior police official said.
