Sydney : Sachin Tendulkar hit a brilliant, unbeaten 117 helping India defeat Australia by six wickets in the first of three finals of the Commonwealth Bank triangular series at the Sydney Cricket Ground here Sunday.
Chasing a target of 240 set by Australia, India made 242 for four in 45.5 overs. Rohit Sharma with his flamboyant 66 gave apt support to Tendulkar.
