Vancouver : An Indo-Canadian who killed his two-year-old daughter in January will stay in jail till his bail application comes up for hearing next month.
Lakhvinder Singh Kahlon, who was arrested for allegedly killing his two-year-old daughter Rajvinder Jan 18 at the family home in the Vancouver suburb of Delta, was told Wednesday that his bail application would be heard April 1.
The 47-year-old unemployed Indo-Canadian had reportedly killed the toddler as he did not want another daughter. He already had two school-going daughters and was depressed since the birth of Rajvinder.
On that morning when his wife was away to drop her two elder daughters to school, Kahlon had allegedly killed their daughter. He was arrested and later ordered to undergo a psychological check-up on whether he was fit for an immediate trial.
He faces a first-degree murder charge.
