Brussels : EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana and European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner have condemned the armed attack in Jerusalem in which eight Israeli students were killed.
Solana said in a statement Friday that he spoke late Thursday with Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni to “condemn the terrorist attack in Jerusalem.”
On her part, Ferrero-Waldner said Friday she “condemns in the strongest terms this ruthless terrorist attack on Israeli youth at the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem.”
The EU last week only criticized what it said was the “disproportionate use of force” by Israel following the killing of over 100 Palestinians including about 20 children in Israeli air and ground attacks.
