The National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Marxist-oriented Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), said in a statement its gunners fired a pair of rockets in the direction of the Israeli town of Sderot.

The missiles were fired in retaliation for the “Zionist massacres against our people and the brave resistance,” the splinter group said.

A spokesman of the Israeli Army told Israel Radio the two rockets crashed into an unihabited location close to Sderot, causing no losses.
