Bhopal: In a simple function at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal, M. C. Pant, Executive Director, RDSO, inaugurated the newly developed Testing System for Diesel Electric Multiple Unit, (DEMU), and Oil Rig Alternator here the other day.
The new test facility with 100 kW shunt wound DC drive motor, is installed in TAM Test area in Block-2, Bay-2. With this new facility, a major bottle-neck of testing of DEMU and Oil Rig Alternators have been overcome, culminating in increased productivity and eliminating unnecessary transportation of assembled machines to CET where the machine had to wait for considerable time for test bed availability.
Care has been taken to install this facility with entirely in-house equipments except a small 100kW motor. It was also ensured that working of other test beds in the TAM test area was not disturbed while installing this facility.
FNX, TAM and EMX divisions have jointly conceptualized, designed and commissioned this system.
Sukul Lomash, General Manager (TPTN & CET), R Krishnan, General Manager (EM), Prabhat Kumar, General Manager (P&D), JV D’Souza, Addl. General Manager (TAM), Vishwas Bhave, Addl. General Manager (FNX), senior executives and employees were present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, under its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, BHEL Village Development Committee distributed uniforms to about 1100 students in the adopted villages namely Kanhasaiyan, Khajuri, Adampur, Kolua and Padariya .
Mrs. Prabha Singh, president, BHEL Ladies Club, MC Prasad, General Manager (HR), UK Singhal, Addl. General manager (TAD), Avinash Chandra, Sr. Manager (TAD), members and office-bearers of BHEL Ladies Club, members of Village Development Committee, teachers of various schools and students in large numbers were present on this occasion.
Inaugurating the Uniform distribution programme, Mrs. Singh highlighted the efforts made by BHEL Management and BHEL Ladies Club in the field of social welfare. She said that we must try to help the weaker sections of the society so that they could come at par with others. She further stressed on the need to help the students in rural areas through counseling and educational assistance.
