Kolkata : A devastating fire broke out at a leather processing workshop in the eastern fringes of Kolkata Wednesday morning.
No casualty was reported.
“The fire broke out at a leather factory, Colour India, at Tangra. Altogether 20 fire tenders were pressed into service, a fire official said.
He said the blaze was brought under control after two hours of fire fighting.
The fire spread quickly since a huge quantity of inflammable substances was stored in the factory.
There was no adequate in-built fire fighting system on the premises, the official said.
