London : The new Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani rang London-based Muttahida Quami Movement leader Altaf Husain and thanked him and well as MQM for its support in his election as the country’s new leader.
According to a MQM media release, Mr.Gillani expressed his gratitude to the MQM founder for his unconditional support in his election as the Prime Minister and the leader of the House in the National Assembly.
The release said during his conversation with Mr.Husain, the new premier said not only PPP but the entire country was thankful for the support extended by MQM for the cause of national reconciliation in this difficult period.
In reply Mr.Husain congratulated Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on behalf of the MQM leaders, workers and people of Pakistan on his election as the Prime Minister of the country. He also felicitated the new prime minister on the wedding of his son.
The MQM leader also congratulated Chairman People’s Party Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and all leaders and workers of the party.
He expressed his hope that the Prime Minister will work for the enhancement of democracy, solve the problems of the ordinary people by combating poverty, unemployment, terrorism and extremism.
The MQM leader further hoped that the Prime Minister will bring stability through supremacy of the constitution and in the interest of the country will carry with him all the political parties to face the challenges confronted by the nation.
