Ahmedabad : The Sardar Patel Stadium here is all ready to host the second cricket Test match between India and South Africa, beginning April 3, Gujarat
Amin said all facilities for the cricketers and the public haqve been made at the Motera stadium. He was addressing the media persons here.
Ticket bookings begin March 30 and the tickets have been priced between Rs.40 and Rs.300. This is Rs.10 to Rs.20 less than what was charged in the last match, he said.
The pavilion has been roofed and 50,000 bucket-chairs have been set up so that the spectators can watch the match in comfort.
The Sardar Patel Stadium, popularly known as Motera Stadium, will rank as one of the top stadiums in the country, claimed Amin.
“We took over the stadium in 1993 when it had bare minimum facilities. We conceived the ground as per international norms. For the past five years, development activities are going on in full swing,” he said.
Billy Doctrove and Tony Heel will be the umpires for the Test while Suresh Shastri will be the third umpire and Sunil Dandekar the fourth umpire. Roshan Mahanama will be the martch referee and Sudhakar Rao the match observer.
