The attack took place in Biratnagar, native place of Nepal’s Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, late on Saturday, news agency Indo Asian News Service reported Sunday from capital Katmandu.

Four people were injured in the attack. Two of them succumbed to their injuries while being taken to a local hospital, the news agency said.

Following the attack, curfew was imposed in Biratnagar, late last night, and markets remained closed, today, in the neighbouring Sunsari district. Nepal Defence Army, an underground organisation, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
