Islamabad : Pakistani Taliban on Sunday welcomed dialogue offer from the Prime Minister with the militants but said hat Jihad against United Stats will continue in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Saturday asked Pakistani militants to lay down arms and join the democratic path for negotiation with the government.
“We welcome Prime Minister’s dialogue offer. Such talks can establish peace in the country”, Deputy Chief of Tehrik Taliban Pakistan Maulana Faqir Muhammad told a public meeting at Enayet Kaley in Bajure in the tribal region.
The Prime Minister told the National Assembly in his policy statement that poverty and illiteracy have promoted militancy in the tribal region.
The Taliban leader said that the local Taliban are peaceful and patriots and they do not accept American aggressive polices against Pakistan and Islam.
Maluna Faqir Muhammad also welcomed abolition of British-era Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) in the tribal region and welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement to end this system in tribal areas.
He demanded establishment of Islamic court in the tribal regions.
He also called for continuing the traditional Jirga, or council of tribal elders, in the tribal areas.
Taliban leader warned those elements who are creating law and order in Bajure Agency.
The Taliban leader asked the kidnappers to release all kidnapped people in 24 hours otherwise a tribal Lashker or Army will be launched against the kidnappers.
Maulvi Faqir Muhammad said that Taliban will continue Jihad against the American forces in Afghanistan as they have committed aggression against in Islamic nation.
