Russian Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov said that he has been seeing with concern how those two nations are being dragged to join NATO, when the majority of the population of both nations are in disagreement, and expressed concern over the deliberated interference in the Community of Independent States.

Lavrov added in an interview released by Izvestia daily on Monday that the entry of Kiev and Tiflis into the alliance will lead to a negative and strict geopolitical change in the region.

Hence, the Foreign minister considered that Russia must defend its security interests through own positions.

Lavrov confirmed that Russia is willing to collaborate with NATO, but it will strongly reject whatever thing that can damage the national interests.
