Raipur : A teacher in a government school has been arrested from Dhamtari town in Chhattisgarh for attempting to molest his 11-year-old student, the police said Friday.
“Shyam Kumar, a 48-year-old teacher, had asked some of his students to come to his house on Thursday to prepare for examinations. He then tried to molest one of them. She is a Class 4 student,” O.P. Pal, district superintendent of police, told IANS on phone.
The girl told her parents about the incident and they filed a police complaint. Dhamtari, a district headquarter, is about 80 km from the state capital here.
The police said students have accused Kumar of sexual harassment earlier as well.
