IFIJ Secretary General appreciates Iran for assistance

Riyadh : Secretary General of the International Forum for Islamic Jurisprudence (IFIJ) said here Saturday Iran’s efforts aimed at pursing forth IFIJ objectives are highly appreciated.

According to IRNA correspondent in Riyadh, the new Secretary General of IFIJ Abdul-Salam al-Ebadi made the comment in a meeting with the permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Central Headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Mostafa Boroujerdi after presenting him a brief report on IFIJ activities.

Boroujerdi, too, during the meeting referred to the special status and broad potentials of the OIC and its affiliated organs, particularly in confrontation with the accelerating trend of anti-Islamic moves in the West.

The Iranian envoy also stressed the need for taking full advantage of OIC members’ full capabilities aimed at annulment of the negative effects of those moves relying on precise planning and close consultations among Islamic World leaders.

Referring to the broad-scale broadcasting of the anti-Islamic movie, Fitna, Boroujerdi asked for taking full advantage of the IFIJ members’ scientific capabilities aimed at defining that assembly’s general strategy for confrontation with such nasty anti-Islamic plots.

The OIC’s International Forum for Islamic Jurisprudence (IFIJ) was established in Holy Mecca on Sha’ban 28th, 1403 (AH – Lunar Calendar) – June 9th, 1983 – and has representatives from entire OIC member countries.

The Forum’s establishment was aimed at promoting Islamic unity and solidarity, as well as harmonizing between the behavior of the Muslims in various Islamic societies and the exalted and authentic teachings of the holy Islamic Jurisprudence.

The current headquarters of IFIJ is in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Port City and its rotating meetings are held at various OIC member countries.
