New Delhi : Ace Indian shooter Gagan Narang won the bronze medal in the 10-metre Air Rifle event at the International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Beijing Monday.
Narang shot a score of 700.3 (597+103.3) to clinch the bronze. China’s Qinan Zhu won the gold medal with a score of 700.8 (597+103.8), while the silver went to Matthew Emmons of US (700.7).
The other Indians in the fray, Abhinav Bindra and P.T. Raghunath shot a disappointing 595 and 594 to finish 18th and 20th, respectively.
In the women’s Trap event, India’s Shagun Chowdhary and Seema Tomar had a bad day Monday, finishing at the 31st and 40th position, respectively, in the 53-shooter field.
