New Delhi : The Olympic torch arrived in the Indian capital early Thursday on a special aircraft from neighbouring Pakistan.
Upon its arrival, the torch was immediately taken in an army vehicle to an undisclosed location.
The torch relay run would be held in the city later in the day. Massive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure safe passage of the torch.
Meanwhile, Tibetans held protests across the city after the torch arrived.
Dressed in yellow jacket with a slogan “Free Tibet”, the protesters shouted slogans like ‘Justice for Tibet’ and ‘We Want freedom’ and tried to break the security ring. Indian security personnel detained six of them.
