The incident occurred late Friday night when three people, in their early 30s, entered into a heated argument with a person who was on duty at the parking bay in the District Centre area in Janak Puri.

Following the altercation, the attendant called sub-inspector Rajveer Singh who came there and thrashed the trio. The police official was said to be under influence of alcohol.

The victims, identified as Om Prakash, Rajkumar and Kalu, sustained injuries in head and other parts of the body and were immediately rushed to the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

At the hospital, the injured refused to cooperate with the medical staff and insisted they would undergo treatment only in the presence of media persons. However, after the intervention of senior police officials they cooperated and were reported to be recuperating.

Police said the medical report of the three revealed that all of them were also under influence of alcohol, while refusing to divulge details about the accused police official.

"Taking action on the allegations made by the trio, we have suspended the official and a probe has been ordered," Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said.
