By TwoCircles.net staff reporter,

New Delhi: A personal website of Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) and renowned Islamic scholar and author of over 40 books on Islam and other issues, was launched recently in a program at JIH headquarters in New Delhi.

The website http://www.jalaluddinumari.com, which will be available in both Urdu and English, was launched by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Dr Shakil Ahmed in a programme attended by intellectuals and dignitaries on 19th April. Those who were present in the programme included Jamia Hamdard Chancellor Saiyid Hamid, All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat President and English fortnightly Milli Gazette Editor Dr Zafarul Islam Khan and former Jamaat chiefs Maulana Sirajul Hasan and Dr Abdul Haque Ansari.

Giving brief introduction of Maulana Umari, the website says Maulana is the chief of Indian Islamic Movement, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and heads a number of social, educational, religious, academic and reformist institutions in the country. An orator par excellence, he attracts large crowds at his Juma sermons and other public gatherings, the website says. Maulana’s topics are as versatile as his personality. But he is particularly considered an authority on Islamic perspective of issues related to gender and family, it says. The website will feature his biography, statements, interviews and his Juma sermons. Some of these sections, however, have presently no content.
