The All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) Monday gave the rights to BPHDCL for hosting the match at Salt Lake Stadium here. The match is Bayern’s last post-season tour of Asia match. The renowned German goalkeeper Kahn is scheduled to bid adieu to professional football after this match.

Soon after getting the nod to host the match, BPHDCL has appointed Percept D’Mark (PDM) India, an event management company, to handle the ground affairs.

“We are privileged to partner with the AIFF to bring the FC Bayern Munich team for the first time in India to play with Mohun Bagan, one of the oldest teams in India,” said Kumar Shankar Bagchi, managing director of BPHDCL.

AIFF secretary Utpal Ganguli added: “We consider it to be an honour for AIFF to be a part of the farewell football match of Oliver Kahn to be held in Kolkata. We really look forward to make this match one of the biggest matches ever played in the entire football history.”
