Abubaker Siddique Medallion presented to King Abdullah

Riyadh : Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz received the Caliph Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Medallion of First Order from the Arab Organization for Red Crescent and Red Cross in recognition and appreciation of his personal initiatives in humanitarian work across the world. The award was presented to the king by the Secretary General of the Organization Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Hazza at a ceremony held at the royal palace here yesterday. Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of General Intelligence, Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, president of Saudi Red Crescent Society, and heads of the society in other Arab countries attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Hazza commended Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian aid, which accounts for five percent of its gross domestic product. “This is the highest percentage at international level,” he added. The Kingdom sends relief aid to countries across the world. “It is for that humanitarian cause that the Kingdom has rightfully won the title of “Kingdom of humanity,” he said.
