Amir”s honoring of outstanding PAAET students reflects interest in education

By KUNA,

Kuwait : The honoring of outstanding students at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), scheduled to be held on Tuesday, reflects the great interest he hinges on education in the country and his belief that it is the people that are the true wealth of the country.

On many occasions, His Highness the Amir emphasized that creating a qualitative leap in the standard of living required developing the educational system into one that focuses on interaction, creativity and developing skills so that Kuwait could keep up with scientific advancements worldwide.

Moreover, he repeatedly said that what Kuwait aspired for was placing an educational system that stretched from kindergarten to university, and one that included the training of teachers and improving their performance, as well as creating a better atmosphere for students to learn in.

“We must develop in our students the skills of scientific research and academic analysis, and to acquire abilities at a young age … and these goals cannot be achieved without the consolidation of efforts, because the development of education is not limited to educational officials of the government, but is the result of joint effort by all parties in the society,” His Highness the Amir said on one occasion.

PAAET was established in 1982 and holds five collages and ten institutes. The colleges are those for Basic Education, Business Studies, Health Science, Technological Studies, and Nursing.

As for institutes, they are the Electricity and Water Institute, Telecommunication and Navigation Institute, Industrial Training Institute – Shuwaikh, Industrial Training Institute – Sabah Al-Salem, Nursing Institute, Constructional Training Institute, Vocational Training Institute, the Secretarial Institute, the Tourism Institute and the Designing Institute.

PAAET also holds special training courses for those holding high school degrees in arts, management, agriculture, and some assisting medical services.
