Arabs for Dialogue in Lebanon

Cairo : Arab foreign ministers called Sunday for calm, and to avoid violence and the use dialogue to solve political differences in Lebanon.

The Araba League foreign ministers held an emergency session in Saudi Arabia and Egypt to address the complex situation gripping the tiny Arab country and propose solutions to the civil strife.

Armed clashes in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon between forces loyal to the government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora and the Hezbollah resistance movement have left about 40 people dead and over one hundred injured so far.

Djibouti Foreign Minister Mahmud Ali Yusef, Arabe League pro-tempore leader, stated that the group has to seek the necessary measures to end civil war, and take Lebanese political rivals to the negotiation table.

The foreign ministers also advocated for forming a Lebanese national unity government.
