Pune: Abdul Karim Telgi, a key accused in the multi-billion rupees fake stamp paper scam, Thursday pleaded guilty of his role in a racket before a special court here.
Telgi pleaded guilty unconditionally before the special court set up under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, presided over by Special Judge Chitra K. Bedi.
Earlier this weak, Telgi had expressed his desire to plead guilty in the case and had sought time till Thursday.
Telgi pleaded guilty after 43 co-accused had confessed to their roles in the scam that involved printing and distribution of the government’s security papers.
