Mumbai : Indian electronic equipment recycling major Infotrek Syscom Ltd Friday announced that it has acquired European e-waste management technology for its subsidiary Eco Recycling ltd (Ecoreco).
The Mumbai-based firm said that the facility for managing both electrical and electronic waste is based on the “dry process technology” and the unit has been geared to recycle e-waste generated across the country.
“Over 50 large corporate houses have already evinced interest in the matter and have asked the company to recycle their e-waste,” said Infotrek managing director B.K.Soni.
“This is a major shift from the earlier mindset. Companies have started taking the corporate social responsibility (CSR) seriously. They want a safe and eco-friendly disposal of the hazardous e-waste,” he added.
Ecoreco’s electrical and electronic waste management facility (WEEE), with the help of the new technology, destroys confidential data and information with the help of a mobile shredding facility that also has an in-built facility to record the entire process of data destruction, Soni explained.
And after the disposal of hazardous substances from the e-waste, the technology helps in retrieving useful and valuable commodities that are eco-friendly, he said.
