Bhubaneswar : At least 60 people, including twelve children, fell ill Thursday after drinking butter milk in Orissa’s Kendrapada district, the police said.
The people drank buttermilk, locally known as lassi, in a shop at Pattamundai town, some 80 km from here. Within a few minutes they complained of nausea, K.C. Mallick, a police official, told IANS.
They were taken to a health centre where over a dozen of them are said to be in a serious condition, he said.
Although the shop owner managed to flee, local residents ransacked the shop, Mallick added.
