New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday condemned the killing of Food Corporation of India (FCI) executive director Phulchand Ram by terrorists in Assam.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, he described the killing as "a dastardly attack and a shameful act" which had shocked the country. He added, "It needs to be condemned in the strongest possible terms."
Ram, stationed at Guwahati, was kidnapped by United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) militants in April and killed. His mutilated body was recovered June 30 near Anandapur village in Assam's Baska district.
