Mumbai : The Indian equities markets closed deep in the red Monday.
The 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, opened at 15,115.97 points and touched a low of 14,846.18 before creeping up to 15,066.10 points at close. It went down by 506.08 points or 3.25 percent compared to its closing figure Friday.
The S&P Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange, which opened at 4,626.45 points, closed at 4,500.95. It went down by 126.85 points or 2.74 percent from its previous close.
