Ramallah : Israeli forces arrested 28 Palestinians in West Bank early Wednesday morning, Israeli and Palestinian security sources said.
The detentions took place in Jenin refugee camp, Nablus, Tulkarem, Bethlehem and Hebron during Israeli forces’ raid in West Bank, the Palestinian sources said.
Five of the detainees were taken from Jenin, the sources said, adding that the Israeli soldiers broke into their houses, searched and arrested the men.
Israeli radio confirmed the reports and said the 28 wanted Palestinians were handed out to the intelligence services for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources said that Israel has granted amnesty to 12 senior militants affiliated with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement after they spent five months in a Palestinian prison.
Israel made this decision as part of agreements with the Palestinian caretaker government of Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, the sources added.
