New Delhi : Five districts of Orissa were given Rs.170.4 million by the central government as financial assistance for a rural job scheme for fiscal 2007-08, an official release said Friday.
The assistance, which was given as a balance of the first instalment of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY), is one of the several rural employment schemes undertaken by the government.
An amount of Rs.45.4 million was also released as the first instalment of a total allocation of Rs.75.7 million to Kendrapara district under the scheme.
The grant is towards plan expenditure and will be utilised for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down in the SGRY guidelines.
