New Nelhi : Sri Lanka declared eight combat jets of its air force raided a training base of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), in the northern Wanni region Tuesday.
Eight fighter jets had raided a LTTE training base at Ampakaman area in the Wanni region this morning, Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said in a statement at Colombo. The raid was successful, the Defence Ministry statement said. The LTTE is yet to react to this attack.
The Sri Lankan Armed forces claim to have killed a total of 9,000 LTTE cadres including 1,000 in various air raids since August 2006.
