New Delhi : A speeding car crushed a two-year-old girl to death in northwest Delhi Friday, police said.
According to the police, the mishap occurred at around 9.50 a.m., when the driver of a Scorpio car hit the girl, Jyoti, in Ratan Vihar area of Sultanpuri. She was rushed to the nearby Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police said Dinesh Kumar, the driver, is absconding.
"We have impounded the car and further investigations are on," Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Aggarwal said.
On Sunday, a 13-year-old boy was killed and six people were injured when a speeding private bus rammed into them at a traffic signal in west Delhi.
