Amman : A Russian cargo plane, laden with 80 tons of food and medicine for the Palestinians, arrived at Amman Civil Airport on Tuesday.
The aid is the third batch of humanitarian assistance Russian government sent to the Palestinians in a week, according to Mohammed Majed Al Eitan, Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.
It comes to alleviate the Palestinian people’s suffering from the lack of food and medicine due to the Israeli siege imposed against them, Eitan added.
He also praised the Russian role in the peace process and its continued support to the Arab issues, the forefront of which is the Palestinian cause.
Israel closed all but one Gaza border crossings earlier Tuesday in response to a Palestinian mortar attack on southern Israel late Monday, halting supplies of food and other essential items to the Palestinian enclave.
