Beirut : Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that Lebanon is the only Arab country which was able to regain all its prisoners and martyrs from Israel, referring to the swap deal concluded between the two sides, New TV reported.
Nasrallah made the remarks in a live press conference designated to talk about the swap deal between Israel and Hezbollah, which was approved by the Israeli cabinet Sunday.
Responding to a British decision adopted Wednesday listing Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, Nasrallah said: “Britain is the founder of the Zionist entity”.
He hoped that all Lebanese consider the victory of Hezbollah in the swap deal as “their own victory”, stressing that his party does not want to “invest this accomplishment domestically”.
He described the negotiation with Israel on the swap deal as “long, tough and difficult”, revealing that the mediation was under UN sponsor, and UN Secretary General assigned a German mediator to do the job.
Nasrallah said that “Hezbollah is ready to discuss its weapons within the frame line of the defense strategy”.
He said that “if Israel ever withdrew from the Shebaa farms, it would be because Hezbollah has weapons”.
“We do not warship weapons, and we do not want to replace the government,” but, we have a duty to liberate our occupied land, Nasrallah said.
He added that Israel is not capable of attacking Iran if the United States does not approve the move.
Hezbollah and Israel are expected to implement the swap deal within 10 to 15 days until DNA tests are completed.
