Sana’a : Yemeni Foreign Ministry expressed its disapproval to what media outlets reveal on the intention of International Criminal Court’s (ICC) Attorney General to issue orders for arresting a number of Sudanese officials, among of them President Omer al-Bashir, and accusing them with war crimes in Darfur.
“This step is dangerous initiative and unacceptable interference in Sudan’s interior affairs and in affairs of countries of Arab and Islamic nation,” Yemen news agency (Saba) quoted a release issued by the foreign ministry.
The ministry warned that such decision (arrest orders) could lead to ignite more flames in the Middle East and African region.
“While the Republic of Yemen expresses its support and stand with Sudan …, she warns that this decision will double complex situations in Darfur,” said the release, adding that Yemen affirms that the international community should ease situations in Darfur, realising peace in it and leaving any step could complex matters.
