UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Abul Ghait signed two MoUs Monday on political consultations between the foreign ministries and waiver of visa requirement for diplomatic and special mission passport holders, WAM reported.

According to the agreement, the consultations could take place in Abu Dhabi and Cairo, or in a third country on the sidelines of an international conference.

The non-binding MoU went into effect from the date of its signing. It would be valid for two years and renewed automatically for a similar period.

The MoU on reciprocal waiver of visa requirement enables diplomatic passport holders to enter, transit and exit from each other’s country.

It would also allow diplomats to stay in each other’s territory without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days.
