The anti-social elements who engineered these acts might have the ulterior motives such as to disturb peace, create panic and spread communal hatred among people, says a statement released by the organization after its National Executive Council meeting held at Manjeri in Kerala.

The meeting urged upon the concerned state governments and the central government to facilitate an impartial investigation into the incidents in order to find out the real culprits who are responsible for the incidents. The investigating agencies should extend the probe into all possible angles, instead of confining suspicions to any selected individuals, groups or communities, says the statement.

As happened in some earlier instances, the police forces and intelligence agencies must not be allowed to harass innocent individuals belonging to minority community in the name of probing the case. The print and visual media also should play a responsible role by refraining from spreading rumours and by leaving the job of criminal investigation to the police rather than deciding the culprits themselves in advance.

Popular Front also requested all sections of the society to remain united for maintaining peace and communal harmony in the country and not to be influenced by sensational stories spread by vested interests.
