New Delhi : India’s largest power generation company, the National Thermal Power Corp (NTPC), has posted a total income of Rs.102.56 billion during the first quarter this fiscal, which is six percent higher than its income in the corresponding quarter last year, the company announced Wednesday.
According to the statement released by the company, its total income in the first quarter last fiscal was Rs.96.87 billion, up by 6 percent.
NTPC’s profit after tax for the quarter stood at Rs.17.26 billion, as compared to Rs.23.69 billion in the same period last year.
The NTPC said it has an installed capacity of 29,394 megawatt through 26 power stations including joint ventures.
Additionally, facilities under construction would yield another 16,680 megawatt. It aims to generate 50,000 megawatt by 2012, it said.
