United Nations : The US, France and Britain have drafted a new resolution on Kosovo after 120 days of multilateral negotiations, which does not automatically grant the Serbian province independence, UN sources said.
The issue of granting automatic independence for the region dominated by ethnic Albanians has been a bone of contention between Russia, a Serbian ally, and the other four members in the UN Security Council. The new resolution gives mediators four months to try and find a solution.
UN missions are already discussing another, third draft resolution, which is yet to be submitted to the UN Security Council.
Kosovars, who have been under the UN protectorate since NATO's 78-day bombings, are seeking independence from Serbia warning that they may have to take the situation into their own hands if no decision is made soon.
