BJP’s Jaitley in all-party team to Jammu

By IANS,

New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday said its general secretary Arun Jaitley will be part of the all-party delegation to visit Jammu Saturday to talk to those demanding the transfer of land for the Amarnath Hindu shrine pilgrims.

Making the announcement, the party said that BJP president Rajnath Singh telephoned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and confirmed Jaitley’s name. The all-party delegation will leave for Jammu under the leadership of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

A BJP leader said that though the party’s representative was going to Jammu, “we are firm that land should be transferred to the Amarnath Shrine Board”.

The party has also demanded the recall of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra.

The BJP also criticised the central government for its failure to control inflation that has touched the 12 percent benchmark, an all time high in the last decade.

“The situation has gone out of control. If (the situation is not controlled) immediately, India will witness stagflation,” BJP’s Prakash Javadekar said.
