Mumbai : India’s equity markets started in the red Thursday and went down further in early trade.
The 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, started at 14.646.98, below Wednesday’s closing figure of 14,678.23. At 10.45 a.m. it had fallen further to 14,510.17 points, 168.06 points or 1.14 percent below its previous close.
The S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 4,348.00 points at the same time, 67.75 points or 1.53 percent below its previous close.
